What particular experience has contributed to your desire to work with a progressive organization and participate in the NLP? What do you hope to gain from participating?
Since I was five years old, I have been spending every summer in Bangkok, Thailand. My summers were not spent by the pool or at the mall; they were spent volunteering in Thailand. It was important for my mother that I be exposed to the entire country, and become an active participant. My mother encouraged me help find solutions, instead of just sitting back and waiting. I have spent several summers volunteering in poor schools, advocating for funds and supplies. I learned how to use my cross-cultural experience as a benefit. I have been in leadership positions in corporate or self- employed working with communities in Michigan. I want to use my personal, professional experiences and educational background to continue to grow my career with an organization I believe strongly in.
