" I have a profound interest in working with an organization or around an issue that is in the beginning stages of development."

- Morgan Cephas,
2008 New Leaders Fellow
What particular experience has contributed to your desire to work with a progressive organization and participate in the NLP? What do you hope to gain this summer from participating?
During the campaign to elect Curtis Jones Jr., I had the privilege of working with a group of 30 year veterans within the political arena. As my mentors they taught me how to strategize, mobilize and assemble diverse groups of constituents. These progressive leaders taught me how to run a campaign from a grassroots level that had been developed two years prior to the actual race. With the skills I learned from this experience that I have a profound interest in working with an organization or around an issue that is in the beginning stages of development.
