"From the New Leaders Program, I hope to gain a more in-depth understanding of being a leader in changing times."

- Katherine J. Gilmore,
2008 New Leaders Fellow
What do you hope to gain from participating in the CPL New Leaders Program?
My lifelong experiences within the community where my church is located in North Central Philadelphia has helped me to gain a deeper understanding of the needs of an ever changing community and the daily challenges people face. Moreover, as a first-generation college graduate in my household, I hope to use my love of learning to facilitate my academic and professional growth in the program. From the New Leaders Program, I hope to gain a more in-depth understanding of being a leader in changing times. Leaders are the people who make decisions and can stick with the decisions they make. I want to gain, cultivate and expand upon the leadership qualities I possess as well as those I do not possess yet.
