2008 New Leaders Summer Interns

Kyle Boyer

Kyle Boyer

Hometown: Kalamazoo, MI

Age: 20

School: Kalamazoo Valley Community College

Interests:

Internship: National Center for Transgender Equality

Kyle currently lives in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where he studies Communications at Kalamazoo Valley Community College. His involvement with the LGBT Community has been diverse, including educational speaking panels, the creation of the first Kalamazoo Pride event and organization, political activism with the Triangle Foundation, and more. This broad involvement in LGBT work has fostered closer ties with the Transgender Community.

Kyle hopes to take this experience working with the NCTE back with him to Michigan in order to help end inequalities and hardships that the Transgender Community - and others - face in Michigan.

"I have vowed to give my life to the LGBT movement and the New Leaders Program will bring me that much closer to my goals by giving me relevant and necessary experience and knowledge."
