"I am most passionate about seeing sensible social policy created and implemented that would best alleviate the economic misfortunes of vulnerable populations in this country."

- Tamara Joachim,
2008 New Leaders Summer Intern
What are you most passionate about?
I am most passionate about seeing sensible social policy created and implemented that would best alleviate the economic misfortunes of vulnerable populations in this country.

You're stranded on a deserted island. What is one book or album that you can't live without?
The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill and the Norton Anthology of African American Literature. Lauryn Hill's album gives me hope that the music industry isn't a complete farce. I chose the Norton Anthology of African American Literature because I'm not organized enough to carry more than two books.

What do you hope to take away from your experience as a CPL New Leader?
I hope to participate in CPL to hone my leadership skills, and begin the process of finding ways to effectively remedy issues plaguing my community.
