- Grace Chang,
2008 New Leaders Summer Intern
What are you most passionate about?
I have a profound interest and passion in children's rights. In exploring the deficiencies of the child welfare system, I believe a new form of collaboration between private, public, and non-profit is necessary. To that end, I believe social enterprise and innovation is essential.

You're stranded on a deserted island. What is one book or album that you can't live without?
100 Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

What do you hope to take away from your experience as a CPL New Leader?
I hope to renew and recharge my faith in social change, and come away with a vision of 'next-steps' for myself.

What experience sparked your desire to intern at a progressive organization and apply to the New Leaders Program?
I grew up in high conflict, low-income family. My struggle to understand the complex, multi-faceted, and intertwining factors perpetuating poverty has highlighted the need for new solutions--solutions that are different from what currently exists.
