- Juliana Weissbein,
2008 New Leaders Summer Intern
What are you most passionate about?
My passion is in absolving social injustices, specifically women's health and prison reform.

You're stranded on a deserted island. What is one book or album that you can't live without?
Whipping Girl: A Transsexual Woman On Sexism and The Scapegoating of Femininity by Julia Serano. It wouldn't be useful on a deserted island but is still a good read and a good opportunity to plug the book.

What do you hope to take away from your experience as a CPL New Leader?
I have seen political action take place and am honored to say that I have been part of the feminist and queer movement. As a CPL New Leader, I will continue work mercifully towards this sort of direct action and I hope to gain a new perspective on the impact of activism.
