Niema Alimohammadi

Hometown: Winston-Salem, North Carolina

Age: 19

School: University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Interests: Sports, student government, people

Internship: Council on American-Islamic Relations

 

Niema is a rising junior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is originally from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. While at Chapel Hill, he was the Town Relations Committee Chair and was the student representative to the City of Chapel Hill.

He is devoted to seeing greater social and economic justice both in the United States as well as internationally, as well as a greater acceptance of all people despite their differences in race, religion, creed, sexual orientation, gender or political affiliation.

What are you most passionate about?
I am most passionate about being involved and learning with others in order to bring forth changes I strongly believe in.

You're stranded on a deserted island. What is one book or album that you can't live without?
1984, Profiles of Courage, Ender's Game

What do you hope to take away from your experience as a CPL New Leader?
I hope to meet and network with diverse individuals, learn new leadership skills and most importantly become involved with an organization dedicated to social justice or advocacy of progressive issues.
