Placement: Network Associate at Campus Progress

"I want to learn strategies for progressive work so that I can be a stronger candidate to serve on the board of a non profit and continue the work I'm doing now. "

Tanya believes that mainstream media does more harm than good when educating the public about social justice issues she cares about the most. Tanya currently works at Campus Progress as the Network Associate, where she supports the work of student activists across the country through conferences, trainings, funding, and mentorship. Tanya graduated in 2007 from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she majored in Women’s Studies and History and was a leader in the Queer Student Union, Women’s Commission, and Solidarity Against War. In addition, Tanya also completed an internship at Women Work!, a national network for women's employment.

In addition to her current work with Campus Progress, Tanya has worked with several progressive media outlets and publications, including WAMU-FM, the NPR affiliate the Washington, DC area, and written, edited, and designed for UCSB’s DisOrientation Guide, HerStory Feminist Magazine, and The Bottom Line, an alternative student newspaper.
