Placement: Events Associate at Campus Progress

 

"Through this experience, I hope to cultivate my leadership potential to expand my contributions to social justice movements. Ultimately, with education and training as my tools, I hope to build solidarity and strength across issues and communities."

 

Vincent Paolo Villano is an Events Associate at Campus Progress, the youth outreach arm of the Center for American Progress. He is a 2008 graduate of American University where he majored in Political Science and minored in Education Studies. While at American, Vincent coordinated the Rainbow Speakers Bureau, a peer education program that recruits and trains students to talk about LGBTQ issues to the campus community.

Prior to working at Campus Progress, Vincent interned with Renna Communications, a public interest communications firm that works exclusively with LGBTQ non-profit organizations. As a 2006 Ronald E. McNair Scholar, Vincent focused his research on social justice education and diversity. Vincent’s research was recognized with the AU School of Public Affairs Award for Outstanding Scholarship at the Undergraduate Level.
